CREATE-YOUR-OWN
Pharma DTC TV COMMERCIAL

Build a storyboard and narrative using pharma's favorite settings and plot elements.

Background

Since our recent study of pharma DTC TV commercials showed that they're all roughly the same, we thought we should make it easier for pharma marketers to create their next commercial. So, we created a tool you can use to make a commercial that will include the industry’s favorite scenes and elements based on our analysis.

Get more details about the study and download the full white paper and raw data here.

The white paper includes our recommendations to the industry along with an overview of the study findings.

Get Started

Every good commerical starts with a simple storyboard. The storyboard is a sequence of drawings or pictures, typically with some directions and dialogue, representing the shots planned.

Pharma companies have made this process simple by using the same scenes and plot elements in every commerical. So, your choices are limited, but your commercial will fit right in and people will immediately recognize it as a pharma television commercial!

You'll then need a narrative, which provides a high-level overview of the action. This is likely going to sound awfully familiar when it's done.

Ready? Here's all you need to do:

  1. Pick from the available scenes and elements for your commerical.
  2. Generate the full narrative for your commercial with just a click.
  3. Export your storyboard and narrative.
  4. Take these to your current advertising agency that's done every commercial for every other brand.
  5. Open that checkbook and bring your storyboard to life!

Your Storyboard
1
Pick your first setting so people know right away where they can go thanks to your drug.
2
Add your first plot element to show what things you get with your drug.
3
Pick another setting to show more places where people can go thanks to your drug.
4
Pick yet another plot element to show how well your drug works.
5
Big build up time. Better pick a really interesting setting.
6
Ensure you're including the classic elements so people know this is a pharma ad.
7
Pick a setting that will be really distracting while you read off side effects.
8
Select a final activity that will ensure people don't pay attention to all your side effects.
